Thế giới của con người hòa trộn với thế giới của những Youkai – thế giới quái vật. Con người không hề nhận ra rằng quái vật hiện diện ngay bên cạnh mình. Yurine, và người hầu của cô ta là Karas, đã từ lâu canh giữ thế giới loài người và thế giới của những Youkai một khoảng cách nhất định. Tuy nhiên, con người dần lãng quên sự hiện diện của quái vật, Yokuai… Một Karas cũ là Ekou, người đã từng một thời canh giữ 2 thế giới này đã phản bội để lập ra đội quân của những Youkai hòng thống trị thế giới loài người. Hắn tạo ra đội quân Mikura, sử dụng quái vật nhập vào những cỗ máy và tấn công tiêu diệt loài người. Một Karas mới xuất hiện, tên là Otoha, kế thừa sức mạnh của Karas. Với sự trợ giúp một Yurine khác, Karas mới có nhiệm vụ tiêu diệt Ekou và quân đội Mikura để giữ thế giới loài người khỏi bị xâm chiếm và lấy lại cân bằng.
